The Democratic Party of Candanadium (Kanadiaans: Demokratische Partei Kandanadiums) is a federal political party in Candanadium. Founded in 1950 as a catch-all party for those opposed to the True Northern Front (TNF), it was banned in 1953 and went underground until the restoration of democracy in Candanadium in 1968. The Democratic Party is Candanadium's largest left-wing party and the most moderate of them, with its main rivals being the centre-right Constitution Party of Candanadium and the Conservative Party of Candanadium.
The Democratic Party formed the first government following the fall of the TNF regime, winning a majority of seats in three consecutive elections under Friedrich Clark (Chancellor 1968-1977). Since then, the Democratic Party has only governed as a minority government (1984-1986, 1990-1993) or as the junior partner in a coalition government (2014-now). The party's declining vote share is attributed to the formation of the Liberal-Green Party and competition from the Reform Party in Oseania.
