However, due to international sanctions and local distrust, further research into the origins of Meltorians and the pre-Meltorian peoples is slow and often hindered by government restrictions. What little can be gleaned from this time is that Meltor was divided into a great many tribes and religious convents until around the year 200 BCE, when great social and religious upheaval occurred, leading to the collapse of the old Meltorian religions and the emergence of Sogenyism as Meltor's dominant faith.
