Infobox Grappling hold may be used to summarize information about a Grappling hold.

Usage

Parameters

Do not use all these parameters for any one person. The list is long to cover a wide range of people. Only use those parameters that convey essential or notable information about the subject. Any parameters left blank or omitted will not be displayed. If a data field has more than one parameter name which can be used, the preferred name is listed first in bold print.

Parameter	Explanation
name	Common name of Grappling hold (defaults to article name if left blank;).
image	Image name: abc.jpg, xpz.png, 123.gif, etc. If an image is desired but not available, do not use Image:Replace this image male.svg or other placeholder images.
image_size (imagesize)	Size to display image: 200px (set width), or 200x300px (max width & max height). This defaults to 225px if empty or omitted.
alt	Alt text for image, for visually impaired readers. See WP:ALT.
caption	Caption for image, if needed. Try to include date of photo and the photographer.
aka	Also known as - alternate names
parent_style	The parent style or martial art for this hold, e.g.: Brazilian jiu-jitsu, Catch wrestling, Collar-and-elbow.
classification	Holds may fall into different classifications. Please choose the best one. Type: Position, Transition, Escape, Chokehold, Joint lock, Armlock, Leglock, or Compression lock, Throw, Takedown Function: Clinch hold, Pinning hold, Pain compliance hold or Submission hold.
parent_hold	If this hold is a variation or has derived from another hold please put that here
child_holds	If this hold has variations or derivations please put them here
attacks	Attacks/moves available to the attacker from this hold
counters	Counter moves available to the defender from this hold
escapes	Escapes available to the defender from this hold
