Bilateral relations between Candanadium and the Akarean Union first took place between the predecessor entities to both modern states, the Confederation of the Realms of the Conqueror and the Akarean Empire.

Candanadium and the Akarean Union share close ties, the closest of two states in the world outside of any international political bloc. This has been referred to as the "special relationship".
