The {{Infobox union by country}} infobox template should be added (not subst:ed) to each of the Trade unions in country articles.

Usage

There are a number of parameters, most of which are independent of each other. The full syntax is as follows:

Parameters

  • national - The article name(s) of the national trade union centre(s) in the country.
  • government - The article name(s) of related national government agency(ies).
  • legislation - The article name(s) of the primary trade union legislation.
  • membership_number - Preferably a single national number, and reference.
  • union_percentage1_title - Title for the following section. (e.g. Union Density, or Demographics)
  • union_percentage1 - May contain a simple breakdown of membership ratios. (e.g. 62% of formal workforce) or (35% of government workforce <br> 19% of non-government workforce).
  • union_percentage2_title - Title for the following section. (e.g. Union Density, or Demographics)
  • union_percentage2 - May contain an additional simple breakdown of membership ratios. (e.g. 56% of women in workforce <br> 62% of men in workforce).
  • ITUC-GRI - rating (from 1 to 5 and 5+) of trade union rights by the Global Rights Index from ITUC, source www.ituc-csi.org/ituc-global-rights-index-2023
  • ILOmember - Member of the International Labour Organization yes or no (or other - only in the case of sub-national autonomous jurisdictions).
  • country - General usage name of the country. Used to personalize ILO membership sentence.
  • territory - General usage name of the sub-national autonomous jurisdictions, used to indicate how included in ILO membership .
  • ILO-87date - The date Freedom of Association and Protection of the Right to Organise Convention was ratified. Please add the date, it is available at the act page - or enter "No" if Convention 87 has not been ratified.
  • ILO-98date - The date Right to Organise and Collective Bargaining Convention, 1949 was ratified. Please add the date, it is available at the act page - or enter "No" if Convention 98 has not been ratified.
