Candanadium and Jokullheim enjoy close bilateral relations as member states of the Kaltach Union. The King of Candanadium is, by virtue of his descent from Hans the Great, a member of the Council of the Chiefs of Jokullheim, represented on the Council by the Candanadian ambassador to Jokullheim. Consequently, by convention, the Candanadian ambassador to Jokullheim has always been a member of the Candanadian royal family.
Candanadium and Jokullheim established formal diplomatic relations in 1864 as part of the Greatsword Treaty (Kanadiaans: Zweihänder-Vertrag), following Candanadium's defeat of Jokullheime raiding forces.
